In just six months one pair of mice can eat more than four

pounds of food and deposit about 18,000 droppings. Food contaminated by mice is about 10 times greater than what is eaten. Also, food wasted by mouse nibbling is much more than what is eaten. Here are some ways to prevent pets and children from being poisoned by using natural mice control. Mice like to eat seeds, grains, and foods high in fat or sugar. These types of food can be used for bait. Such items include bacon and bacon fat, candies such as tootsie rolls and anise teddy bears, butter, peanut butter, avocados, pizza crusts and nutmeats. Chocolate covered peanut candy will kill mice. Chocolate is poisonous to mice. Switch bait occasionally–it makes the mice more likely to investigate the new food offering. Place traps along walls between mice habitat and food sources. Place under cupboards or other furniture in the dark to help prevent household pets from being injured by the traps. Don’t leave pet food out at night–at least until you are sure all mice are caught. Take a deep wastebasket or other container that is at least 12 inches deep. Put a plastic garbage bag in it along with cereal such as cornflakes, or other mouse food. Place it near a kitchen counter where mice are known to crawl. The mice will jump down into the container but will not be able to crawl or jump back out. Dispose of the mice in any way you choose. Store bulk foods in sealed glass, metal or hard plastic containers. Stack bagged or boxed food in neat rows on shelves or cupboards in a way that allows for thorough inspection for evidence of mice. In storage areas, keep stored materials away from walls. Sweep floors frequently to detect fresh mouse droppings. Always clean up after eating. Do not invite mice by leaving food items or crumbs out overnight. Seal all holes and openings larger than 1/4 inch across. A mouse can crawl through a hole the size of a dime. Use steel wool or cement to seal, screen or cover all holes into the house. Place 3 inches of gravel around the base of homes or trailers. Enclose foundations of permanent houses with metal roof flashing buried 6 inches deep and rising 12 inches above the ground. Mice can jump 12 inches onto a solid surface. Fill gaps around pipes. Fix loose fitting doors. Close openings around chimneys, damaged house siding, broken windows and screens. Inside, get rid of clutter in basements, storage rooms, sheds, carports, and garages. Remove padded cushions from sofas and chairs, and store them on edge or separate them from one another, off the floor. Remove drawers in empty cupboards or chests and place them on sides. Outside remove piles of trash, junk and lumber. Keep woodpiles more than 12 inches above the ground. Keep covers on trash cans and dumpsters. Eliminate weeds and other vegetative cover as well as debris and litter in and around homes, buildings, crops, lawns and other cultivated areas. Lawns should be mowed regularly.

Stainless steel is a unique form of steel that is low in carbon and contains at least 10 percent chromium. Bradley stainless steel toilet partitions are manufactured from type 301 stainless steel. Type 301 contains between 16 percent to 18 percent chromium and between 6 to 8 percent nickel. It is easy to manufacture, highly corrosion resistant, and impervious to a number of chemicals.

We must be realistic in our expectations of what stainless steel restroom partitions can do. While they are corrosion resistant, they are not immune to rust. Its chances of not rusting are much greater if you keep its surface free from contaminants that contribute to oxidation. Daily cleaning should be done with mild soap and water, or glass cleaner, using a soft cotton cloth. This is normally all that is required to maintain the surface aesthetic.

There are times, however, where certain airborne agents in certain environments do cause stainless steel restroom partitions to corrode or to appear discolored. There are also those instances where overzealous cleaning staff uses the wrong chemical agent to clean stainless steel toilet partitions. If you educate your cleaning staff in advance on what NOT to use, you will save yourself the cost of labor involved in repairing the damage. You will also save on replacement costs which might result if the damage is too severe to repair.

The following substances should never be used on stainless steel restroom partitions.

Avoid any pure bleach or cleansers that contain chloride should never be used because they contain bleach.

Avoid muriatic acid, which is used to clean tile and concrete installation sites, should never be applied to stainless steel.

Avoid using water that contains high iron content. It will leave a rusty residue.

Wash off all soap residues as well. Some soap contains chemicals that will discolor stainless steel restroom partitions.

Do not use any products made of iron such as steel wool, machining chips, or cleaners that are stored in metal cans.

Avoid anything containing salts because salts contain chlorides.

Anything that does inadvertently discolor your stainless steel toilet partitions must be removed immediately. Discoloration will become permanent if you do not do this, and the surface will also become pitted. Typically, discoloration can be removed by putting a little Ajax, Bon Ami, Revere Ware Stainless Steel Cleaner, or Goddard’s Stainless Steel Cleaner on a Scotchbrite pad. After removing the discoloration with the pad, wash the panel thoroughly with water.

In the event that your stainless steel toilet partitions do end up rusting, then use the following materials to remove the rust.

For bright and satin finishes, you can use naval jelly. You have to be careful using it because it is an acid based product. It will brighten the panel, so you have to evenly apply it all over the surface. After doing so, be sure to rinse the entire surface with water.

For satin finishes, you should use mild abrasives like Bon Ami, BarKeepers Friend, or similar products. Be certain that you do not use anything with chlorides or bleach. A soft wet cloth should be used to apply the abrasives. Be sure to rinse with water thoroughly, and also dry the panels with as soft dry cloth.

If you have grab bars with a rough finish, you can use nonmetallic abrasive pads. Apply a mild abrasive to the bar using the pad. Rub with the grain, rinse, and wipe dry. Never do this with fine finishes.

If you follow these guidelines, stainless steel toilet partitions will maintain their aesthetic indefinitely.

One of the most worrying and disconcerting trends of our modern living is the ever increasing power and influence that fad eating plans have over us. Cabbage Soup Diet

The cabbage soup diet has been lambasted in the media after a concerted effort by medical practitioners across the world to finally dispel any sort of belief in the mind of the public at large this diet plan provided any sort of genuine results.

The defining feature of the cabbage soup diet is that it promises the dieter that they will be able to enjoy a significant amount of weight loss in a short period of time, if they follow the guidance and instructions of the eating plan exactly.

One of the sharpest criticisms that have been aimed at the cabbage soup diet has been that it makes unrealistic and overly ambitious weight loss claims. Specifically, according to the marketers responsible for the promotion of this eating regime, the dieter will be able to lose around 10 lbs per week.

This claim has been sharply challenged by nutritionists and dieticians who argue that such weight loss is unsustainable. Even if that level of weight was indeed achievable, it would not be fat that would be lost, but rather, water deposits around the body.

The fact that the weight loss is primarily derived from the evaporation of water reserves around the body, this directly means that the weight loss achieved is not actually permanent.

One of the most damning criticisms that have been aimed towards the cabbage soup eating plan has been the total blanket prohibition on protein intake. This is especially concerning given that around 15% of all our dietary energy is derived from protein. In addition, protein is needed because it contains a series of essential amino acids chains which the body cannot synthesize itself.

Therefore, relying on the cabbage soup eating plan directly places the dieter in a state of risk and potential malnutrition. This eating plan has also been subject to criticism on a more logistical level, due to the extremely unpleasant and bland nature of the diet. Forced to eat the same food over and over, with little variation, many people report that they struggle to keep up with the diet simply out of pure and absolute boredom. The fact that the diet has a high salt content to mask the taste is also of concern.
